PRODUCT DESIGN AND ENGINEERING

Arkon's experienced in-house design and mechanical engineering team are experts in the development of high quality mounting solutions. With key staff based in Arcadia, California and Taipei, Taiwan, Arkon offers a unique dual approach to servicing its customer's project needs.

At the start of the custom mounting process, customers are asked to provide two samples of their portable electronic device. If the product is not available, an empty housing or prototype will suffice.

Arkon's engineers, utilizing their vast knowledge and experience in mounting technology, will design and produce a 3D drawing of the proposed solution. Upon approval of the 3D drawing, an ABS or CNC machined prototype will be manufactured.

RAPID ABS PROTOTYPING

ARKON's engineering and manufacturing facilities are equipped with the latest in prototyping technology, including a Dimension SST 3D printer that produces high-quality, durable working models from ABS.

3D prototyping is one of the most important steps in the design process as the ABS prototype samples produced are nearly identical to the finished product. You'll be able to make critical design decisions before the design is sent off to tooling.

ARKON's Taiwan based production centers achieved ISO-9001:2000 certification in 2006. Customer orders are manufactured and assembled in a timely manner with strict regard to quality control and accuracy.

RoHS COMPLIANT PRODUCTS

ARKON insures that its products are RoHS compliant. The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". 

This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.
